US Chat Agent: It can if you are Silver, Gold, Platinum, or Chairmen with Us Airways. I have not heard anything about that from United or any other airlines.

Regardless what we think is 'fair' or how things ought to be, US rules do not allow *S or *G (outside of their own elites) to pre-reserve exit rows. There are some agents out there who will do it for you anyway, but fewer and fewer. I had slipped through the cracks for at least 6 months on 8-10 trips always getting pre-reserved exit row as a UA-1K flying US and never even realizing I *was* slipping through the cracks. It finally caught up to me. So, now I split my mileage crediting and am Gold on US and 1K on UA. (I did the US elite challenge to get elite immediately; I'm not sure if that's still available with the new pay-for elite trial program.)
