Business class does not get discounted (at least, I've never seen it). However, paid upgrades are inreasingly common and the price is often substantially lower than the fare difference.

Personally, I have no problem whatsoever enduring 2 hours in the back of the bus because there are usually plenty of good seats from which to choose. That said MU business class is pretty nice on its 330s and 340s (on CA, you need to do a little more research in order to pick a good plane; some of its widebodies are good while others are nothing special).
