About a week ago, I was flying MEM-CUN. I was in Seat 1-B and had my first choice of meal. I noticed the FA taking some of the foil wrapped meals and throwing them in the trash. Our choices were Pasta (Ravioli) or Chicken Teriyaki or noodles or something. 1CD ordered first and took the Pasta, then 1A and I took chicken and I took pasta. Apparently I had gotten the last pasta and some of the folks behind me were upset because their only option for rows 2-4 was Chicken. I heard the FA apologizing that the caterers had managed to shatter most of the porcelin dishes of pasta and he had to throw them out.

So I'm eating away on my pasta (it was ok) then I was dipping my breadstick (those long skinny ones) in the pasta sauce, and I took a bite as I scooped up some sauce/cheese on the breadstick and started chewing then (crack/ouch). I was like damn this is the hardest breadstick ever, I chewed for another second or two and realized I was chewing on a tic-tac sized piece of my pasta bowl that was chipped off. I showed the FA who was extremely apologetic and he offered me something else, I was done eating after that but I wanted to make sure he threw the plate away and documented it for catering's purposes.

I thought the situation was handled quite well, I guess the morale of the story is look carefully at your airline meal, and chew carefully as well. At least the Cherry Garcia was a nice end to the meal!
