Since I got married in LV, I obviously don't think it was tacky! It is probably true that if you WANT to go for tacky, it's easy in LV, but you can also have a very nice wedding at any number of venues, includng the Four Seasons, the Ritz at Lake Las Vegas, the Red Rock Canyon (for the outdoor inclined), and many others. Just depends on your tastes and of course, like everything, on your pocketbook...
