If there's any pattern....
AA bought OC in 1987 and QQ in 1999. So if one is to extrapolate, the next acquisition of a west coast carrier will come about in 2011, and I imagine a new regime at DFW who have no memories of failed past acquisitions. Hopefully it'll be VX or some other startup rather than AS/QX.
