Re-routed from HKG to LAX-no compensation?
I've just had a bad experience. Couple weeks ago, I was flying from BKK to LAX via HKG but upon arrival at the airport was told that UA2 was dealyed about 8hours due to fog in Delhi! They put me on the flight via Narita but I missed that flight also as we were delayed in Bkk for an hour. Anyway after running from Terminal 1 to 2 in Narita, they put us on the code share with ANA without our luggage! I just got back from IAD and and was again sent via Narita! This time, I had called ahead to see if there was any delays and the reservation agent at the 1k desk told me that the flight from HKG to BKK was dealyed so she goes and make arrangements for me to get on the flight via Narita which is 1 hour longer! Anyway, at the airport the check-in agent tells me that there was probably a mistake on that agent's part as the flight wasn't delayed. So when I asked her to put me back on that flight, she says that its full so she couldn't help me! How bizarre! Its never happened to me but a BKK reservation agent told me that I was entitled to a compensation!! Any of you ever faced a similar situation and get compensated??
