Negotiations could take years. If trouble is brewing, you will definitely know when to rebook.
If AA personnel go on strike, I wonder if other airlines will be more lenient about matching AA status? If I need to switch to another airline, I'd prefer to go to someone who would grant me the equivalent of my EXP status.
