Just ordered & received a dual-passenger award on United for use before the April '99 deadline. As usual, they sent me two hotel award certs and two car rental award certs. I am not ususally able to use these for several reasons, but I am using them to get a pretty good deal on four nights at the Radisson Hotel in Sydney. (Rack is A$172, so I get it for A$86, best rate I've found at that hotel is A$129.) I'll be staying a whole week, though, so I will need two more.

What's frustrating is that I found several United hotel certs in my filing cabinet, but they've all expired. I don't suppose that United exchange will these for "fresh" ones, will they?

(Oddly, after the first four days at 50% discount, the remaining three days revert to the rack rate! They would not give it to me at the A$129 rate, so I may have to make a separate reservation for the remaining 3 days at the A$129 rate.)
