"The quoted fare for your selected itinerary is not currently available for purchase"

So I am trying to use a $100 ecert on a one-way 3-stop itin (MHT-ORD-LAX-SNA for 22.71, it is 122.71 without and I can book it just fine.) I get to the screen and it shows the correct price. I select 'select' and it gives me this after selecting my flights when searching by price:

We’re sorry, but due to technical issues, the quoted fare for your selected itinerary is not currently available for purchase. To purchase the itinerary you selected, please contact united.com customer support at 1-800-589-5582. Please be advised that fares may be higher than originally quoted. Error message 6440.
I called .bomb support and they tell me to use the ecert, I have to do it online and they cannot do it. I have called several times and the answer is the same. I call 1k desk and cust relations and no help. I am kinda like, W TF am I supposed to do? My ecert is essentially useless. Anyone have any advice?
