I tried searching on moving and chicago, but nothing worthwhile came up, so apologies if this has been discussed before... .

I am moving out of the country next month, and am in the process of trying to rent my condo. I had initially planned to stay here until I rented it, but since it is moving season, now I'm thinking that I should vacate ASAP and get my stuff moved to my parents place in the detroit area.

It isn't a particularly huge amount of stuff, so I'm not sure if any national moving company will want to deal with me (esp on short notice... I have a lot of flexibility on the pickup date and even more on the drop-off date, but it has to be picked up before 8/15). Also, since it is not a huge amount of stuff, I'd rather not pay a huge fee to move it.

Anyone have any movers that they would recommend (or recommend avoiding?). When I initially moved to Chicago, I used a random mover that I found on the internet and was pretty unhappy with the service.
