Hi everyone! I just tried to book row 1 (or failing that, exit row seats) for my husband and myself for an upcoming trip on QX and was told that all such seats are now "under airport control" and cannot be reserved at booking time. According to the customer service rep, too many people who were "not eligible" or "not capable" of sitting in those seats were reserving them, creating chaos at the airport, so you now have to turn up early to the airport in the hopes of switching to one of those seats.

Hubby and I are both MVP, so usually were eligible to book those seats, and would routinely sit in row 1 (he's 6'3", so it makes a difference to him on those CRJs). This is seriously disappointing to hear if true. I'm hoping this was just a fluke that was caused by us making the booking using BTTs, and not a true policy change.

Anyone know if this is now policy?
