I am driving up to Canada tonight crossing at the I-81 border. In the past I have been able to go into Canada and get back to the US with just a drivers license. I know I do not need a passport but when checking the entry requirements it states proof of US Citizenship required. Does a drivers license still cover this requirement? I am a US State Department employee and a qualification for employment is US Citizenship, do you think my US State Department ID would work? Thanks!!
PS. I have a Passport but I forgot it this morning (D'oh!) and I do not have time to get it unless I break dinner plans with my cousin who I have not seen in over 2 years who is flying back to KL tonight.
PPS. I will be traveling with your typical American family (Mom, Dad, & 5 year old daughter) who will have their passports if that makes any difference (Suspicion wise)
