Well, we lost a person for about 8 hours this week... We assumed she was on the plane, well at her destination... Of course, if you can sit at one place for so long without saying a word or get some sort of attention, I think we can assume you have some other problems, f.ex. alzheimers. But we didnt know until a missing person report was filed with the police in the country of her final destination, and the local police called us. Anyways, she was not flying the easiest or shortest route to her destination, but had at least one unnecessary flight. If I sent her on a trip to her family elsewhere, I would of course book the easiest route with no unnecessary stops. Someone didnt. She should of course not be set on gate by herself, but she looked like she could walk easy (f.ex. thru security screening) and someone assumed she could walk down the jetway.

Some sort of GPS or RFID would be good. Im thinking the kind we use on the kids when theyre at ski school, so a missing child can be found in the mountains. We cant put them on the pax, because of the law, but we should be able to put a GPS device on the wheelchairs. Problems still occur when a person start to walk... And im not completely sure how this would work out with personal security laws. It would means someone could see which store most disabled pax shops at etc. And what if you have your own wheelchair? What would you think of us if the first thing we did was to put on a gps device?

I do see bagladys concerns with the lounge. I do agree, and it is not necessarily the best option for all travelers. But in case of evacuation, it would be a lot safer, and also in cases where we dont know how much the pax understand. Nine out of ten disabled pax doesnt need a lounge like this. But how can we sort out the ten percent who needs it?

If Katja have time, this discussion should probably be split out.
