UA's 777 and 767 Int'l are 18" width in Regular Y and E+ and have 35/36" pitch. And you don't have to pay any extra money to travel in it!
BA 777/747 has 18.5" width (pay extra or it's 17.5"!). NZ 777 has 17.8 regardless!. NZ 747 premium is 18.5"
VS 20" - if you don't pay, it's 17.5" !
SQ only goes to EWR/LAX so that's a pretty thin comparison - though their premium Y is nice to be sure.

But if paying extra for -.2 " or + .5" depending on carrier means that much for you...go for it! ^
