You are right, they only
directly (i.e. exact route to route) compete transpac BUT the critical thing is that they are the
only two airlines directly competing for that amazingly busy route.
I am not as much of an afficionado of routes as many others here on FT but is there any other route so lucrative with only two carriers competing?
