Help needed: Rebooking after No show (Air China)

Hello everybody,

I am worried and I do have very specific questions, hopefully somebody can help me.

I booked a flight for my brother on Air China:

11JUL: Frankfurt-Beijing on CA0966, L-Class
15JUL: Beijing-Shenzhen on CA1225, S-Class
25JUL: Shenzhen-Beijing on CA1358, S-Class
connecting to 26JUL: Beijing-Frankfurt on CA0965, L-Class

Fare basis is YEE3MDI, Fare 675 EUR + Tax (830.26 EUR in total)

Now this is the situation: My brother flew Frankfurt-Beijing and Beijing-Shenzhen and was supposed to fly back from Shenzhen to Frankfurt via Beijing last evening (25JUL). But China Airlines sent the following message on the Amadeus Queue: "Flights cancel due to pax noshow at airport", and logically they cancelled the flights on CA1358 and CA0965. Although I can't reach my brother, I reached his hostel, and they told me he is still checked in and will check out tomorrow, but he's not in the hostel at present (I guess his partying somewhere). Anyway, everything seems to be fine with him, and that's a good point. I guess he didn't checked his ticket well, and though his flight back would be on 26JUL (as the flight PEK-FRA is actually on 26JUL, at 1:30 am or something).

As the China Airlines office in Germany is closed I called the Los Angeles office, I explained the situation and the lady drebooked him on CA1358 and CA0965 (so exactly the same flights) 24hours later, so that would be this evening on 26JUL. I asked her if she rebooked the same booking classes, she told yes, and that he would need to pay the rebooking fee shown on the ticket (100 EUR ; Endorsements: "NON-END/NON-RER/REB-FEE EUR 100") at the airport.

Is this an information I can rely on? I mean actually my brother never rebooked BEFORE the flight took place, I always thought that rebooking must be made in advance and not after segments get cancelled... Is this goodwill or is this actualy the conditions? I really hope that everything will be fine... 100 € is great, that's much less than buying a new ticket... By the way the ticket is "no valid after 15oct".

I guess he will need to go to the Air China Counter and change his ticket and to pay the fee. If that's all everything would be great... But the "new" flights that the L.A. office of Air China booked are not visible in Amadeus (I guess they use their own system).

Would you rely on that? I'm just very worried to get my brother out of there... I guess there are a lot of experienced travellers here, which have been in that situation before and can tell me how things work...

Thanks a lot for your help
Frederic
