What's even sadder is that I actually remember the gate numbers at Terminal 3 during the Pan Am days! In the PA days, Gate 1 started with what is today's Gate 4. The rotunda gates were in the teens (yes, I know, the Pan Am gate numbering scheme made no sense; thankfully Delta renumbered them in a somewhat logical manner). And OT, the rooftop parking lot used to be open and was great for airplane spotting...I remember going out to the T3 rooftop on weekends when I was doing summer internships in NYC in the late '80s to watch the 747s...
