I am trying to requalify platinum this year with 50k elite miles. I have a trip from DFW-MAD in a few weeks that I'm looking to book. I know the partner airline flights have to say "AA operated by xxx-airline" to get elite points. But I'm not sure if this also applies to miles. Would it have to be an AA flight # operated by Iberia to get the elite miles, or do all the miles on OneWorld partners count toward qualification.
Right now I have:
YTD Elite Qualifying Points: 33,750
YTD Elite Qualifying Miles: 37,282
My concern is, I found a cheaper flight on BA from DFW to MAD through london, the flights have nothing to do with AA flight #'s or anything, its strictly a BA flight. Will those miles count toward my requalification?
Thanks,
Jen
You get zero /zero if you fly BA from the U.S.
