I wouldn't expect that you would have difficulty finding someplace to stay on short notice. However, if you have a good idea of what you think you want to do, go ahead and book some hotel rooms that will allow you to cancel, at no cost, up to 6pm of your arrival date. Just keep track and be sure to cancel if your plans change. That way, at least you know you have some decent places booked.
