I currently have a lot of Q4 reservations on UA and US, so I was thinking of trying for a Mileage Plus match -- hoping to carry that status into 2008. But it sounds like this won't work too well for me -- probably about half the miles will be on US, so I might not even get to 12,000 UNITED miles in 90 days.

Is there any other way to play this? Thanks.
I called the UA Prem. Exec. Customer Service line and the agent told me the date is a mistake; that if I match within the 90 days I will have status through Feb 2009. I should probably call again to see if I get the same answer.

Also, your US flights will count toward the status match challenge as well:
