We stayed there this weekend and I have to give it a thumbs down. The first room we were given was on the second floor facing the rear looking right out on air conditioning units.
WE rejected that room, and were given a rear facing room on 9 with a "handicapped" bathroom, at least making the bathroom a little less claustrophobic. We were told there were no upgrades and no executive floor. We got no other Platinum benefits at all, no drink coupons, breakfast coupons, nothing.
The place was inundated with dogs. Dogs on the elevator, jumping and sniffing. Dogs in the lobby. Dogs in the restaurant. I have never seen so many dogs. Many of them were quite large. I am allergic, and this was a shock. I feel like there should have been some warning on the website when I made the reservation.
Every noise from the back of the hotel was audible in our room. There must be no soundproofing whatsoever. Also, because the rooms are so tiny, you are practically sleeping on top of teh noisy a/c as it turns on and off all night.
The garage behind the hotel is used for the neighboring hotel and the Fox Theatre as well, so we had all that noise and traffic both nights until very late.
On check out, we mentioned a few of these things. The manager was summoned and she was quite apologetic. She promised me the VIP floor on the top next time-but had no answer when I asked her why I wasn't given it this time as a Platinum member.
As if there will be a next time!
PS The restaurant Baraonda on the corner is quite good.
