It's new and branded but comes in the ubiquitous "white box". You get four standard tips plus a choice of 5th tip (I chose the N19 for my Dell).

Beware depending upon the type of laptop you have the Kensington can do very bad things to it. The (N5 I think) tip for Fujitsu-Siemens and Sony ultraportables does not have a snug fit. As a result the power keeps switching offf and on and the fit of the top also creates looseness in the female (no s......ing please) connector on the PC.
I paid around £100 for mine and I will no longer use it after one complete laptop destruction and one replacement (female) power socket on my replacement laptop.
This is the reason why I would value a standard UK socket or failing that a EU Style Plug. The Empower converter adds another bulky box to the existing power supply. The Kensington appears to be a perfect solution but my experience was very different.
