Last week I had a business meeting in Barstow, CA on Wednesday afternoon, and one in SAT on Thursday morning. My only option to get to SAT was leaving ONT at 9pm on Weds, change in LAS, and arrive in SAT at 5am. I kept the hotel room, checked in at 5:20 am, slept for 2 hours, showered and was out by 8am.
I had a similar situation flying into ABQ on a red eye years ago. My ulitmate destination was Socorro, about 1 hour south by car. I arrived at 2 or 3 am, but all the rental car counters were shut between midnight and 6 am, so I grabbed a couple hours of sleep at the airport Wyhdham (sp?) until I could get my rental car.
