japanese are educated to not think themselves so rules have to be followed and cant be bend.

everything extraordinary is too much for the usual japanese FA.

how is it possible that you still have your blackberry on when you enter the phone

i always enter the plane in the last second (meaning i wait until the second final boarding call with my name called) and than i go to the gate and they close the door behind me.

i thought every FTer is doing it this way and trying to stay as long in the lounge as possible.

anyway, if you are on board, just type your message and tell the FA that you are turning it off in a second. if she insist tell her to get the purser, in that time she goes to the purser you can finish the message

about making calls in airplanes i agree that it is considered unpolite in japan making phonecalls in trains/planes so it might be good to stick to that rule .
