Are you sure? I KNOW 100% that I was on it late summer '05 for a wedding and would have sworn it was AWA/US for the Thanksgiving trip too. I was in the air a lot back then (every other week) for a job so it blends together in my brain.

I know what you mean about travel just sort of blending together!!
But they definitely eliminated that JFK/LAX quite some time before the end of 2005. It was definitely before the merger was even announced. I always enjoyed the route since an upgrade was pretty much guaranteed regardless of status given how light the loads were.
