Westin Sukhumvit, Sheraton Centre Toronto, Sheraton Heathrow etc.)
And I'm basing this on numerous stays at these properties over the last 4 years.
I realise that this is an old thread but my one experience of the Westin Sukhumvit was very positive. We stayed for one night upon arrival in BKK this month, and my parents and sister and family (arriving the same day) also stayed (one using my 5 night nights and flights award, one using my SPG50 award). All 3 rooms were upgraded to the Executive floor (my family had no status) and we received 1 suite, 1 Exec Corner Room and 1 Exec Room. These were randomly allocated I think but we ended up in a Suite, which in many ways was nicer than the SGS (fresher interior etc). Based on this experience I will seriously consider staying at the WGS again, it is just a shame that I like the SGS so much.
We had a very strange experience at the SGS a few days later as part of our "honeymoon" (after our legal marriage but before the ceremony which we held in Krabi). We had booked a romance package (which is actually rather good value for 2 nights including a bottle of Veuve Clicquot and room service breakfast for the whole stay). We actually had booked into a Grande Deluxe room as part of the package and this was the only occasion at the SGS when we have received a Grande rather than Exec Suite and I would have to say that I prefer the Exec Suite with it's 2 bathrooms. We completed our 5th stay at the SGS on the way back from the South to make 5 from 5 Suite upgrades and also received a small gift (luggage tag) for completing our 5th stay.
Otherwise I would agree with AJ certain hotels I know I will never get a suite as follows:-
Sheraton Skyline - Club Room
Sheraton Heathrow - Club Room
Westin Palace Milan - Deluxe Room
Sheraton Lisboa - Club Room (last time this was right next to the lift

)
Meridien Montparnasse - Basic room it seemed, upgraded to a Suite (2nd Floor) on one occasion after much grumbling.
Other hotels which always give me a suite:-
Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit Bangkok
Sheraton Hong Kong (Towers)
Meridien Budapest
Sheraton Park Lane
Other properties I have not stayed at often enought to draw meaningful comparisons, or I always book the room category I want (e.g. Sheraton Pattaya) since the cost differential is not that high.
