I don't know how my sexual preference is related to security issues. It is absolutely rediculous that this information should be made available.
Then again I don't know where that information is supposed to come from. At least for Germany I know that there is no official register for homosexuals. It acutally would be illegal to collect this data. There is no centralized data about gay civil unions either. Civil Union registers are regulated individually by each Bundesland (State). From 2009 to 2013 Germay is introducing a centralized marital status register, but up to now civil unions are not to be incuded.
Will airlines have to ask their customers when booking a flight if they are gay?
And if this information is retrieved somehow, will this prompt e.g. a request to document once HIV status? (HIV positive individuals cannot enter the US with the Visa Waiver Program)
