"Interesting" promo at Marriott.com

So I'm a relatively frequent Marriott traveller. I also like to golf pretty regularly. So I was looking for a vacation to the Dallas-Fort Worth area for next month, when I came across this page at Marriott's website:

http://www.marriott.com/hotels/speci...rshaCode=dfwch

It's supposed to be for a golf package, according to the page itself. And so says the link I clicked from the hotel's homepage. I like Marriott and I've played that course before, it's a good area, so I thought I'd jump for the package rate when I saw it.

But I noticed a couple of things odd about this page. First, they mention free breakfast at the Springhill Suites (this hotel is a Courtyard). Second, no matter what date I checked, the package rate they advertise doesn't come up in the options. The website always says that the special rate isn't available, but gives me some other (non-golf) options instead.

I even called up to the 1-800-reservations number, and the very nice, patient young lady I spoke to managed to check through a number of dates when I might be travelling. At the end of the call she told me, "I'm sorry sir, it looks like the rate you're looking for is never available".

Anybody have any insight? If it's never available, why is Marriott advertising it? What do I have to do to actually make a reservation per this advertisement? And what about that odd Springhill reference?

From a concerned (but hopeful) traveling golfer.
