If you are a frequent TWA flyer, would it not be better to get miles/segments on them and if reaching a status level - get the equivalent status from AA when they take over. Or do you think they will add segments and miles from AA and TWA together to determine status for 2002?

I believe on AA you get .5 mile toward qualifing for Status if using discount (less than full economy) fares and a lower minimum miles per segment. And 100K to get to top level, Executive Platinum. Versus full miles (or minimum of 750 or 1,000 depending on your current status)for TWA. So I would think TWA would be better to get if you can earn enough before the takeover. Or will AA try to "devalue" the TWA miles when considering for AA status??

It WILL be an interesting year.
