I too had this dilema some time ago, it was very tempting to spend the extra on First "just to try it".

Luckily for me, I was sitting in the F lounge in ORD one evening and a very nice lady came up to me and asked "Are you Rhys of Sweden" I confirmed that I was and without another word she grabbed my J class BP and handed me another, which said "Seat 1A". I was over the moon! The service was excellent, the cabin looking a little bit "old" but everything worked fine. I loved the nice posh washbag (or rather my wife does since she now "owns" it!) I left the flight feeleing very lucky and very happy.

However,on reflection, now that I have tried it for "free", I would say that it is not worth spending the extra money/miles over J. J is a very fine product and is well worth the miles/money - the move to F is not significant enough for the extra spend (unless of course you have more miles than you know what to do with!)
