Correspondence received from the hotel today -

Hotel is in fact operated by Sheraton. Hotel has in fact changed their LD supplier from AT&T to this alternate LD supplier and programmed their desksets to dial all " calling card " calls as collect calls although their supplier charges them as " calling card " calls. Their supplier not surprisingly denies answering as AT&T ( I heard it twice ). They are correcting their speed dial labeling.

As compensation for my trouble I am awaiting an insignificant credit to post for the cost of my calls.

There is an ongoing investigation by our LD supplier.

I am a little underwhelmed that this property would seek income through this method and by their compensation. It just has a very cheesy feel to it.
