IIRC, if you do any kind of MFU, it shows on the manifest as RDUG (redemption upgrade). The crew may, wrongly, get the impression that you have had a free upgrade.

If you do a straight miles booking (or GUFT a miles booking), there is I believe no such comment on the manifest.

So what the crew see is: full miles booking - looks the same as a revenue passenger, MFU booking - looks like an upgrade. This is weird I agree.

Now the crew shouldn't differentiate between a RDUG passenger and a revenue passenger. After all, you could have MFUd a full WT+ fare, which may have been more expensive than a cheap I class fare in club, technically.

Isn't that what the OW Tier system, and the additional information from the CIV scores are for? To tell the crew who is more important commercially to BA. In my view, as a RDUG with a CIV=72, you should have been prioritised over a revenue passenger with a CIV=60.

Someone tell me if I am wrong.
