Different level of service in CW

I flew MAN-JFK last week with wife and 2 kids 2A/B/E/F. I booked 2 with miles and GUF2. The manifest showed no comment. Booked self and child1 with cash WT+ and MFU. Manifest showed upgrade plus my CV72 this month.

When food orders were taken flight attendant went 1,3,4,5,5,4,3,2,1 then to us. I ordered the fish which had run out so the attendant apologised and said they only had the normal ratios of meat/fish and that they had to prioritize service as we were an upgrade. They did not want to take order from wife/kid1 but not me/kid2 so we were all left to the end.
We changed the order and moved on so no problem. What do you all think about that prioritization I was surprised given comment in F/T where "all are treated the same"

I read about seating policies and check in at MAN on FT
Normally the policy changes made by BA do not affect me much I often get one of the seats I want in 64 in J or 1/2/3 in A but with 2 different PNR this time we had a roulette feeling. Actually at T-5 BA allocated 1a/b, we already had 2a/b from JFK and on the return to JFK 2ef to complemnt the 2a/b we had but the uncertaintly spoilt the experience prior to T-5

Check in was a scrum but quite quick, we OLCI including kids for the first time and did the Fast Bag Drop 15 minutes all in. It was the last day for BA staff at MAN so they were a bit grumpy but it was a Sunday and securit was a breeze

So thumbs up on eventual seating and overall check in but down on service priority.
