In addition, if CO experimented with all-J service and found it to be unprofitable, CO simply could terminate service at the end of the contract (or terminate the contract early for a fee, if so negotiated) rather than be stuck with two/four/six/etc. all-J 73G's that it would have to sell/return to lessor/reconfigure to standard cabin specifications.
