I am on a flight in Aug. from CVG to SFO via ORD and the CVG flight usually arrives near E2, and the SFO flight generally departs from Concourse C. This shuttle should save some walking. The frequency of the shuttles is such that taking the shuttle will always save time versus walking between the terminals. That's my way of avoiding guessing the frequency, which I'd assume changes based on day and time. On average, I've waited less than 7 minutes for the shuttle.
Check out the ORD layout in Hemispheres magazine for the exact location. There is definitely some signage around it, but I walked by it a bunch of times before noticing it.
