i know DL is aware of these problems with the IFE system. to my knowledge its been more of a problem with the panasonic system that is playing the content. DL is working with panasonic pretty consistently from what i hear to remedy these situations ASAP.

havent been on the 777 as of late, but all domestic 75x's and int'l BE 767's have worked fine for me. prob just good luck as i know others have had the same problem.
