If you can use web checkin and print your BP, you can get there at 0530. Just have the customs form filled out. If you have to check bags, you have to get them tagged and line up. That's where status comes into play. Weekends are usually busier due to cruise traffic.
IIRC, immigration doesn't start working until 5 so it's no point getting there much before 5.
Yes, I'm checking in bags...and yes, I'm coming from a cruise. So, I'm one of those people clogging up the lines. Luckily I am traveling on a Tue. not weekend. I can lug my laptop with me to do OLCI..but if I have to check in bags will OLCI help any? My other option is to change flights and fly YVR-SEA the night before and overnight it in Seattle...only problem with that is I'd have to leave the airport and go through security twice. Thanks for the info. I guess I'll count on being at the airport at 5AM.
When you talk about customs forms..where do I get them? Can I get them online? This is all new to me. Thanks everyone.
