When I look on-line I see availability in June of 2008 up until the 26th. The only availability is for a “Stay Anytime Award” which will set you back 180,000 points for three nights. There have been a few threads on this forum that stipulate the Marriot in Capri and Rome have special dispensation from Marriott rewards to offer absolutely no standard reward availability during certain time periods. IIRC the Marriott lurker here has actually confirmed this (do a search). For the JW on Capri May though Mid October is “Stay Anytime Award” season only. The hotel is closed during the winter season, so that leaves a couple of weeks in the spring and a couple of weeks in the fall for standard awards. As you might guess there are not many of these available. As for July... well... they may be loading it soon... but it is also possible that in the peak season they offer absolutely no awards at all, but I do not know (would not be surprised). There are absolutely zero award nights available July 2007 and only a handful (one night here, one night there) in August 2007
I booked a standard award about 9 months in advance last year for a stay in April of this year. BTW, the hotel is nice and I did enjoy my stay there, but from a Marriott rewards perspective it has further limitations. The hotel is classified as a resort (a serious stretch IMHO) so you will get no lounge or breakfast benefits, and I can verify they follow the rules on this one. Also, forget using the Marriott diner for two certificates here… they do not accept them.
