When booking an upgrade a few months ago from MIA - SCL, the res agent said to me, "Good idea - MIA between 9 - 11 pm is like a zoo without cages with everyone packed into the waiting area."

The upgrade was nice, but I will definitely try to fly via DFW the next time.
