Thank you so much for all your replies folks. I too found that for some reason UAL has many seats available for the 35k mile round trip tkt. I might use my UAL miles.

Only other option I see is get another quick 20k miles into US Airways and bring the total upto 140k. I can do that by applying for a credit ard. THen I can get two economy (:-() class tkts for 140k miles from SAN to hawaii. I know I know, its a sin, and I hate it too:-)

I just want to burn the US airways miles & be done with it. I hate their customer service.

I checked their online award seats availability for multiple destinations. They just seem to have nothing available to any decent destinations in the world! unless of course you fork out double the miles for the same economy class tkt.
