Whatever you do, for your own sake, please do not fly US to Hawaii. They use very old 757's. I flew one of the "Hawaii 757's" from ORD-PHX and I was shocked how crappy it was. My first class seat was broken and would slowly recline without pushing the recline button and if I sat up the seat would automatically spring forward. There have also been reports of mechanical issues with these planes. Yes, every plane has mechanical issues, but I have heard of more problems from these planes including several engine issues on takeoff.
I wouldn't necessarily say "old", but actually
"not well maintained" planes. We fly around on "old" planes all the time. The key is
properly maintaining the interior as well as all mechanical parts of the paln.
BTW, many airlines have planes MUCH older than US 757s.
