As a newbie you will be forgiven for this transgression, and as you spend more time here, you will understand that what I am about to say should be taken quite seriously:

Don't doubt flyertalk!

The first answer you got was absolutely correct. Unless you had purchased a fully flexible / fully refundable / full fare ticket, there is absolutely no way that you will be able to do what you are hoping to do.

I'm saying that the answer was correct with such confidence because I believe that if you had actually purchased a f f / f r / f f t, your first post on FT would have been about how absurdly expensive it was to buy that ticket, and not about the subject at hand.



(Tongue-in-cheek, in case it wasn't clear...)


In any case, the answer really is 99.999% no way.

And to tell you the truth, if that travel agent you spoke to is the one who sold you the ticket, they are either extraordinarily incompetent, or lied to you to scam you into buying a ticket.
