Sometimes that is nearly the cost of the plane fare. We often fly very early in the morning which necessitates taking the car into to the airport and leaving it there for days on end-- and lots of $$. There are no rental agencies near me since this area has no real business at all. Any other ideas or am I stuck with the airport parking? We are leisure travelers and the days of expensing it are long over!!
We know the problem and have worked long hours trying to find the best solution. Our summer home is Brielle, NJ and winter is 60 miles from Tampa, FL. We take many trips from and between both places, and we have the problem at both ends. With two of us, the taxi/train/limo price is double, so we usually end up driving and parking at a remote lot. For a trip next week, we got a discount coupon on-line for parking at ABC next to EWR (recommended by moderator XYZZY on this board) and have made a reservation for $130/15 days. In TPA, we will rent a car for a day for about $40. That will get us home where we have a car. We have found the charges for a one-way car in NJ to usually be quite high, a big hassle, and not worth it.
