The mixer wouldn't get any use as I don't like to bake. I'm thinking I could pay less and get only the functions I want. Any purchase that ends up on the counter will send me right to the doghouse anyway.

I've seen old-fashioned apple peelers that are hand cranked and look pretty slick. I forget where, but I'm thinking county fair, Dollywood, Cracker Barrel maybe. Couldn't be too expensive.
