You made a decent choice with the Comfort - it will allow you to wander around the town and enjoy dinner at a reasonable restaurant there. I don't know why everyone seems to think Japanese food is expensive. Hotel breakfasts certainly can be overpriced, but ordinary restaurants are reasonable. You should be able to find a decent dinner for under 1500yen. If you're happy with a bowl of noodles, you will be able to eat for much less than that.

Thats the first thing most people say, hey foods really expensive in japan.

:-P I know it cannot be that bad, I want to try some authentic food, not food from a hotel that would be modified to suit a wider range of tastes.
