Conversely I felt that J on the MD11 was very comfortable last year--it was a little old fashioned, but the center armrest on the 2-seat areas pulled out completely so you could really spread out comfortably. Yes, the seat was not completely up-to-date, but it was nice in a not-full flight to really be able to spread out.
