I agree, and it's not only a question of the value of the item. This is an area that CO needs to work on. They apparently don't log stuff by what flight it was found on or anything. I left an old sweater I loved on a plane. I called and all they were interested in was a description of the sweater. Can you imagine someone searching though a pile of stuff for a blue sweater?
When I use to travel on MetroNorth, the commuter railroad into New York city, I often left an umbrella or a package on the seat. I would go to Lost and Found and the would have everything tagged by date and the train it was found on. I probably batted about 90% on getting stuff back over 20 years with at least a trip a year to lost and found. Then again, maybe the conductors who usually found and turned in the stuff were probably more reliable than the plane cleaners.
