Examples include:
UA DEN-ORD -> 8 a/c types: 735, 733, A319, A320, A320 (Ted), 757, 767, 777. One could even argue that UA uses two types of 777s on this route; international and domestic have different seat configs.
UA DEN-SFO (See above for a/c types).
UA ORD-IAD (Again, see above for a/c types).
US PHX-LAS: crj900, 733, A319, A320, A321, 757, and there are differences between US ans HP operated a/c.
NZ AKL-SYD. 733, A320, 767, 777, 747.
Just a few samples.....I could go on and on. This is a lot more common than you think.
