Yes, the skycap will assist you (and will expect a tip).

- Will the wheelchair assist take me to security where i'll go through the screening like everyone else, but i'll still get to stay in the wheelchair?
Yes. You can stay in the chair, but security will likely ask if you can get out of it or not. They will check the chair, not just you.

- After screening, will the assist take me to the boarding area and require me to leave the chair and wait til FC/preboarding, requiring that I get myself down to the plane and on it?
They will take you to the gate. Sometimes you can stay in the chair, and other times they'll promise to come back. It has happened that they forgot to come back(a previous thread somewhere here).

Or can I stay in the chair up to the plane entrance and then assist myself on board (with my crutches)? I don't think I can manage the gangway, especially if it's inclined, but I can def manage getting onto the plane and into my seat if there's no stairs involved.
If you can't manage the jetway then tell them when you get to gate. They will take you to the aircraft door.

- I will check in a suitase, a duffel bag, and will carry on my crutches/wallet/laptop bag. Will an FA help me stow/later retrieve my carryon and crutches?
They're supposed to, but if past threads in other forums are any indication, there may be some who won't.

- When I land for the stopover, I expect I'll get wheelchair/trolley transport to my next departure gate. Same question - will I get taken, dropped off, and have to get myself down the gangway onto the plane or can I get wheelchaired right to the plane entrance?
same as before. Yes, they will assist you to the connecting flight.

- If I land in MIA late at night (11 pm) will the wheelchair assist take me down to baggage claim and then I have to manage getting my luggage off the conveyor and out to a taxi?
Yes, they will take you all the way to your taxi. If they can (they only haave 2 hands) they will help with bags too. Don't forget that they will be expecting a tip.
Thanks very much for your help/advice!

Welcome! One more piece of advice. Don't grab my chair by mistake if we happen to be on the same flight. I travel with my own chair.
