early check-in / airport standby for upgrade? (at Wroclaw, Poland!)

Hi,

I'm staying in Wroclaw, Poland and flying back to Tokyo via Munich in a few days. I have a certificate issued by United Airlines (using my miles) for upgrade on Lufthansa, but my request didn't clear in advance and no stand-by was possible.

So the question is: is there any way to increase my chance of upgrade using this cert at the airport? For example, when I flew from Frankfurt to Tokyo in the past, I checked in almost 24 hours in advance and was the first in the wait list (and the upgrade cleared ^). Is it possible to do the same at Wroclaw? Unfortunately, there seems to be only a LOT check-in counter, no Lufthansa. The connection at Munich is only 65 minutes, so there may not be enough time.

If there is no way to do this, that's OK - after all, I only paid for economy. I'm asking just in case there is any tip. (I called Lufthansa but they didn't have any idea how the upgrade would work.)

Thanks in advance!
